What to Expect

  • We have nursery care for newborns-2 years old during Sunday School and Worship Services.
  • We have a toddlers class for 3-4 years old during Sunday School and Worship Services.
  • People dress all along the spectrum from casual to business.

While there are many things are about the same in any given church, there are also things that stand out in each particular church. Clover ARP is no different.

If you visit Clover ARP Church, four things might stand out to you:

1. OUR BELIEFS ARE OLD.

We are committed to the divine inspiration, perfection, and authority of the Bible. It is the very Word of God, down to the smallest detail. We do not change the message to fit our lives, society, culture, politics, or preferences; rather, we need to change our lives to fit the message. The Scripture warns us not to be “tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes” (Eph 4:14). By the grace of God, we intend to stand firm on His Word regardless of which way the winds around us are blowing.

2. WE HAVE A LOT OF CHILDREN.

When we have our children’s message, the front of the sanctuary fills up. In recent years, the Lord has blessed this church with many young parents and children. This is no accident – Clover ARP has long been committed to reaching children with the gospel of Jesus Christ in this community. This church was instrumental in starting and continues strong support for the Biblical Released Time (BSRT) Program for elementary school children, as well as the Good News Club after school program. We have a thriving children’s ministry and Sunday School.

3. THE WORSHIP IS PLAIN AND BIBLE-CENTERED.

There is nothing fancy about Clover ARP Church. We do not try to put on a fancy show or have high church ceremonies. We sing 3 or 4 songs, pray, give an offering, and have a sermon. Our services are one hour. We go through one book of the Bible at a time, passage by passage. Each Sunday the sermon is an explanation of the next passage in sequence. We believe every element of the worship service should be full of Scripture.

4. WE SING PSALMS (among other songs).

Perhaps the most striking thing about the worship at Clover ARP is that we sing Psalms. Frequently we sing a modern song led by guitar. Frequently we sing from a hymnbook accompanied by piano or organ. Always in every service we sing at least one Psalm. We even have a special book with the Psalms set to music.

Scripture says, “…be filled with the Spirit, addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart” (Eph 5:18, 19). We are commanded to sing Psalms! In fact, singing Psalms is an important evidence of being filled with the Holy Spirit. Many hymns and praise songs are wonderful – and we use them – but the Psalms are the only worship songs that God Himself wrote for us.

I should point out that all this would be for nothing without Jesus. All the Bible, from beginning to end (including the Psalms we sing) is about Jesus. And all the Holy Scriptures testify to Jesus – and salvation by faith in Him – that we may go to Him and have eternal life.
